Maddi Manheimer is a fashion photographer who incorporates elements of surrealism and abstraction to her photographs.
Born and raised in St. Louis, Maddi learned and discovered art through her family. All forms of art from painting to music to fashion have been flowing through her blood since she was little. Although she didn’t get the skills to paint or sculpt like some of her other family members, she was the only one to get an eye for photography. Her work is inspired, and uses elements from, other forms of art.
Even though she grew up taking photos, her real journey and discovery of photography started in her high school darkroom. She quickly realized she could create art through her eyes and show the world how she perceived it. In fact, the first photograph that she took with a 35mm film camera was featured in her high school art show. Although she has always loved fashion, she really didn’t discover her passion for it until she photographed her mother in her vintage clothing collection. She has been shooting fashion ever since.
